anti bush's anti gay marriage
I talked crap @ 10:48 p.m. on 07.14.04

Bush's bid for an anti-gay-marriage ammendment to the constitution was recently dominated in congress. Democrats accuse the republicans of partisan screwing around. Orrin Hatch, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman , a Utah Republican, says in reply: "Nobody wants to discriminate against gays .... Gays have a right to live the way they want. But they should not have the right to change the definition of traditional marriage. That is where we draw the line." Having been in debate for more than a few weeks, I can spot a bullshit argument when i see one. "We can't allow gay marriage, that goes against tradition." You can't appeal to a tradition as a way to argue for a law to come into place when the tradition itself is what is in question.
